Our Business

About Council Business

The Ynysybwl & Coedycwm Community Council handles daily business through its Clerk and 12 Council members. These members represent residents and businesses. They facilitate activities that promote community well-being, like bringing people together and protecting the community’s identity. The council also represents the community’s views to the Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, similar to other community councils in Wales.

Here’s a more detailed look at our responsibilities:

  • Representation: The council represents the community to the local authority and other bodies.
  • Facilitation: Facilitating activities that promote community well-being, such as bringing people together.
  • Protection: The Community Council protects and promotes the identity of our community.
  • Communication: The council communicates with the local authority and other stakeholders.
  • Community Involvement: The council encourages community participation in local decision-making.
  • Meeting: The council holds monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of every month.
  • Grants: The council has a limited fund that it can use for grants within the community
